Hopes were high in the lead-up to event 3, to be based at Wanda with a forecast predicting both wind and swell.
On the Saturday morning competitors turned up to see a freak groundswell at Wanda beach. With no wind forecast for the first day, the judges and committee deliberated over where to stage the competition on the Sunday, with northeast winds forecast.
Ultimately, the decision was made to move the competition to Gerroa, with the waves at Wanda closing out and being too extreme, leaving the beach break unsailable. Gerroa would provide slightly smaller, more manageable waves and better winds. Continue reading Event 3 – Wanda; A Gerroa Spectacular
Even though it seems the Windang event has just past and many competitors have just competed at the Merimbula sailboard classic, in a weeks time the NSW Wavesailing Association will be converging at Wanda beach for the Wanda WAVE BASH.
Recently, there have been some epic sails at Wanda and the comp will hopefully throw up good conditions too.
As always, you will go into the draw to win a prize just by entering, and by pre-entering you get a second entrance into the draw, doubling your chance of winning. At this event you could win a Neilpryde MXT Extension, combine with a base.
To enter, just fill out the below form and send it back to us, and send the entrance fee ($45, or $25 for Juniors (+$35 Membership)) to our account.
See you there.
The second event of the 2013-14 NSW WA season was hosted at one of the best southerly big wave locations on the east coast. The Big Air Windang supported by WindSurfnSnow, Neil Pryde, JP Australia, Natural Necessity and Dirty Dog lived up to all the hype. Over two days competitors scored over 8 hours of sailable conditions with the finals held in the best conditions of the weekend. Continue reading Windang Delivers!

We do have Gerroa as a backup if conditions look good with a big south swell and north east winds so be prepared to drive if conditions look promising.
I am actually writing this after a 3 hour session out Windang and I can promise you, if we get conditions like today at Windang, it will most probably one of the best sailing days of your life.
I’m looking forward to seeing you all there.
Well…. What a weekend!!
Those that attended the first event of the new format and new location got treated to some amazing conditions, comments like ‘best weekend ever’ where being flung around. With WindsurfNsnow/Neilpryde being our season sponsor, HOT sails Junior sponsor and Surf FX event sponsor, throwing out shop vouchers and some great prizes, we had a great turnout which was awesome given the poor wind forecast for the weekend. I am grateful to be able to contribute to this great sport that has been such an influence on my life and I appreciate the support shown so far.
You would assume that we scored 20knots cross off and mast high surf from the vibe of the weekend. But no we didn’t, the wind was light all weekend and only achieved 10knots at best on the second day with some marginal wavesailing conditions. But the waves pumped, the music was cranking and the whole philosophy of the new format shone through. A weekend away to get maximum water time and enjoy the company of fellow windsurfers.
