Both the open and master division season titles will be up for grabs at the season-ending WSS Boards GerroaFest. A no-result event at Wanda means all sailors will effectively be forced to make it their dropped event, meaning the results of the season final will count for all sailors.
Opens
The opens title has come down to a four-horse race. Michael ‘George’ Westra currently sits in the lead, followed by Zack Coleman, Adrian Levy and Francois Pialoux. Westra will be difficult to beat, having already inked in two first places next to his name. But Coleman, Pialoux and Levy are not far behind, and will be going all out to try and claim the season crown.
Masters
The masters’ race is even more tight than the opens. Currently, Jamie Hamill holds the lead and will be the favourite coming into the last event, having won both events at Gerroa this season. Only 30 points behind is Richard Fink, whose consistent performances through the season have seen his ranking rise compared to last season. Just another 100 points behind Fink is Tim Pitcher, who jointly won the East Coast Titles alongside Hamill. An event win would be enough for any of these three sailors to claim the season title. Finally, only 180 points off the lead is Dean Hendrie, who will also be looking to take home some silverware.
