Standings for the WSS Boards Summer Wavesailing Series Championship are close coming into the Season Final at Gerroa, presented by Duotone.
Opens
With just one event left in the 2019/20 season the race for the opens title could not be any closer.
Both Adrian Levy and Francois Pialoux have one win and one second place under their belts, putting them both on 1870 points for the season. It is likely whoever finishes higher this weekend will take out the season title. Defending NSW Champion Levy has had a strong season, winning the SurfFX Woopi Classic, Severne East Coast Titles and the Merimbula Classic. But Pialoux is also in top form, coming into the season final off the back of a win at the Severne GerroaFest, the most recent event.
Following them is last year’s second place winner Darren Pasco, Zack Coleman, Adrien Gacon and James Elks, all fighting for a spot on the podium.
Masters
Gerroa local Warren Holder leads the Masters heading into the final event of the season, followed by Jason Juretic. Holder has opened up a reasonable lead, but if Juretic can get a win at the season final, Holder must finish second to take out the title.
With a bit more work to do are Richard Fink and Tim Pitcher in equal third, closely followed by Stephen Robinson and Sam Lynch in equal fifth.
A grand masters title is also up for grabs, with eligible sailors Holder, Robinson, Jaime Coelho and Michael Preswick all in with a good chance of taking out the title.
