Competitors turned up to Wanda for the Duotone Wave Classic, optimistic, with a NE forecast for later on Saturday.
Competitors enjoyed good SUPing and surfing conditions while waiting for the wind to build. Impromptu games of cricket and frisbee also were enjoyed.
Unfirtunately, as the day progessed it became clear that the wind was not going to pick up. This ultimately lead head judge Stephen Robinson to abandon competition, with it clear that there would be no wind on the Sunday.
The wind backing off and the tide dropping meant conditions were perfect for competitors to enjoy an afternoon SUPing and surfing session.
Thanks to Duotone an evening social event took place providing competitors with a great feed, drinks and conversation. All present also got to take home so great Duotone gear.
A big thanks goes to event sponsor Duotone, provider of great gear, purchasable at WSS Boards and Newcastle Kite and SUP.
The next event is 30-31 January 2021 at Shoalhaven.
