Registration for the final event of the season (including AGM) is now available at: http://wp.me/P1DaiW-ih Tim Williams has been on the committee for the past decade. Performing the roles of president or vice president and donating his time and effort to help the association and wave sailing. He has taken on a new teaching job in Adelaide where he can work on his light onshore sailing. We wish him goodluck and thank him for his massive contribution. The last event of the season is coming up in a couple of week, February 28- March 1st at Gerroa/Windang. This will be run using the fun expression session format and it is sure to be a great weekend away so lock it into the calendar. A part of the final event is the associations Annual General Meeting. With Tim Williams leaving, we need new committee members to put there hands up and help grow the sport and the association. I have tried to reinvigorate the association with a more social and fun environment to help attract new members, implementing the expression session/super session format along with the dedicated state titles. This year we have had 26 brand new members join the association and had over 40 competitors at the State Titles, one of the highest participation events for over 6 years. The sport is having a resurgence and we all need to help that resurgence, getting more friends into it and along to the events. They are a fun weekend away for even non competitors. The AGM will be discussing all the formal requirements along with suggestions for growth. The committee will be elected so if you think you can lend a hand, come along and nominate yourself for a position.

The NSW Wavesailing Association (NSWWA) will be heading back to Flat Rock, Ballina between the 27th and 29th of September for The Wavesailing State of Origin II. This weekend’s looking unreal with 20-25knots of wind forecast all day Saturday. Sign on will be at the Birubi Beach Carpark until 11am SHARP.
There is a possibility of relocation depending on the wind angle (We are still not sure of the exact angle wether its going to be more South West or South) so we need everyone signed on by 11am.
CREST café will be open at 8:30am serving awesome bacon and egg rolls and coffee so get there as early as possible as it will be windy.
Its going to be a huge day so make the effort and get there!!! See you bright and early on Saturday. Yeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwww!!!
Due to a very unfavourable forecast for this weekends event, it was decided to try and reschedule the event to the following weekend 30-31st August. This big east coast low has mucked up the usual winter pattern we are used to at this time of the year! Hope you all got amongst it in some way over the past couple of days.
We have been able to persuade all the relevant authorities and have been granted permission for the new date, this is a big task given the usual red tape behind large organisations. Thanks to the Port Stephens Council and the Roads and Maritime Services for working through the request.
Our accommodation partner is happy to change anyones bookings to the next weekend. So please call them today or tomorrow to make the new arrangements.
Thankyou all in advance for the understanding in regards to this big decision. The NSW Wavesailing aim is to get everyone out on the water to enjoy the sport of wavesailing so hopefully we will see you all there on the 30-31st, with a big winter cold front westerly blowing.
Cheers, George – NSWWA President
